Better late than never

I'm jotting these down while in the middle of an all-nighter essay session just to keep track for the ceremony. I swear to God, I could not be any less interested in university this year.

I'm not being very risky/adventurous with these predix, but look what happened to me when I did that with SAG. Not again.

I had planned not to make predictions, because I simply don't care (gasp, oh no!). Actually, I do not feel like I have a grasp on the situation -- I have had no strong feelings about an underdog prevailing.

Essay-session? When do you return to university? My second semester classes begin tomorrow.

And, for curiosity's sake -- what classes are you taking?

Oh, and even though I will not be posting predictions (although, an hour before the show, I might just break down and scribble some down anyway), I will DEFINITELY be doing another play-by-play coverage.

Yay for drunk celebrities!

A lot of people are predicting Crash for screenplay, but I don't think that'll happen. The globe screenplay always ALWAYS goes to a best pic nominee, so it'll be Brokeback, Goodnight, or Match Point. If Crash wins anywhere, it's for Dillon.

Though Crash could of course win original screenplay at the oscars.

I am waiting demoniacally for "Crash" to just well, crash, really. Talk about subject matter being more important than the film in question.

Nick - where your play by play coverage? It's not on your blog as yet... I'm waiting for more bitter and pissed off reactions.

I went back to university on the 9th. Classes are the same from last year (I'm taking full courses): World Lit, Fiction 1900-1960, Indo-Caribbean Studies, Modern Political Theory and Comparing World Religions.

All of them are seemed fascinating when I read their descriptions in the course booklet last July. Nevertheless, I can't say I'm in love with a single one of them (well, that's not true, I do enjoy my World Lit - great reading list).

Adam - Good call on screenplay, I didn't consider that. Too bad about PSH, I know badly you (and I) wanted him to win. I saw the film again today and my appreciation for his work grew even more (if that's possible). I am in love with this performance, my favorite of the year (male or female, lead or supporting).

Javier - Although I didn't totally despise Crash (C/C+), I am also stunned by the end-of-year kudos. It had as much sublety as an episode of the now-dead "Boston Public" (superficially) tackling race relations.

Ali -- update your BLOG!

Easier said than done. Do you see how many I have to review? I get sick just looking at that list. Maybe I'll just pick and choose what to write about.

Yeah, that is what I tend to do.

Also, just write small capsules of a few, and perhaps leave the thers for some other time.

But don't only focus on reviews -- I always like to hear small anecdotes, also.
