Classes are the same from last year (I'm taking full courses): World Lit, Fiction 1900-1960, Indo-Caribbean Studies, Modern Political Theory and Comparing World Religions.

All of them are seemed fascinating when I read their descriptions in the course booklet last July. Nevertheless, I can't say I'm in love with a single one of them (well, that's not true, I do enjoy my World Lit - great reading list).

Adam - Good call on screenplay, I didn't consider that. Too bad about PSH, I know badly you (and I) wanted him to win. I saw the film again today and my appreciation for his work grew even more (if that's possible). I am in love with this performance, my favorite of the year (male or female, lead or supporting).

Javier - Although I didn't totally despise Crash (C/C+), I am also stunned by the end-of-year kudos. It had as much sublety as an episode of the now-dead "Boston Public" (superficially) tackling race relations.Yaseen Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05908587347677660287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19337329.post-1137441141019362212006-01-16T14:52:00.000-05:002006-01-16T14:52:00.000-05:00I am waiting demoniacally for "Crash" to just well...I am waiting demoniacally for "Crash" to just well, crash, really. The globe screenplay always ALWAYS goes to a best pic nominee, so it'll be Brokeback, Goodnight, or Match Point. If Crash wins anywhere, it's for Dillon.

Though Crash could of course win original screenplay at the oscars.adam k.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13485604493059621307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19337329.post-1137429490436689482006-01-16T11:38:00.000-05:002006-01-16T11:38:00.000-05:00Oh, and even though I will not be posting predicti...Oh, and even though I will not be posting predictions (although, an hour before the show, I might just break down and scribble some down anyway), I will DEFINITELY be doing another play-by-play coverage.

Yay for drunk celebrities!Nick M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12566330717380805279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19337329.post-1137429412610751542006-01-16T11:36:00.000-05:002006-01-16T11:36:00.000-05:00I had planned not to make predictions, because I s...I had planned not to make predictions, because I simply don't care (gasp, oh no!). Actually, I do not feel like I have a grasp on the situation -- I have had no strong feelings about an underdog prevailing.

Essay-session? When do you return to university?
