Just for your info:

Bobby = Lock for a Best Picture nomination. It's like Crash set in a hotel.

Interesting that you mention that...since damned near everything I'm reading about it is critics saying how disappointing it is.

Sorry to have to mention Crash yet again, but critics weren't exactly ga-ga over it initially. And the audiences at both screenings responded especially well. Plus, the Weinsteins will be behind this in full force, so I think it's a likely prediction.

I checked out your reviews - glad we agree about The Fountain, which was a real letdown. Also very jealous about you seeing Little Children and meeting John Cameron Mitchell in person.

I'm a bit disappointed that you were a bit disappointed about Jindabyne.

There were things I really liked about it, but it seemed like it was packing way too much in for its scope - will expand in a capsule review in the next couple of days. Laura Linney and Deborra-Lee Furness were brilliant though, award-worthy brilliant.

YAY!

At least you thought the Lovely Laura Linney and the Luckiest Woman on the Planet were great. I can deal with that.

Gross!

(OK so the B's reaction to "The Fountain" surprised me --even if his thoughts came across as borderline incoherent-- if he doesn't love this who the hell will?? Oh, God. I hope CuarĂ³n, at least, lives up to my expectations).

Oh dear. I ain't loving that.

Guess who has tickets to attend a Liv Ullman symposium and have a disucssion with the lovely and cerebral Ms. Ullman herself.

If you haven't guessed yet, it's me.

I was going to say ME, but then you had to go and shatter my fantasy. But that's great news, and I hope that you have a blast (what am I talking about, of course you will.) Take lots of pictures and take notes. So that you can update your blog.

You know, because it's not like it's updating itself.

Oh my God. Liv Ullmann???

I hate you all.

Er, Ali. Fountain review?

You deliver #7 first.

Then we'll talk.

fun comparison.

as i said in my first post about bobby...it has it's crash element, with walk the line clothing and real-story-time-piece like Good Night.

We should think about giving each other deadlines, lol. Why. can't. I. write?

Can you explain that to me, Ali?
