Today, I went to see
Mrs. Henderson Presents, and preceding the screening (during the previews) was a single trailer for...
Mrs. Henderson Presents. I believe this is the first time something like this has ever happened in my years of being a moviegoer.

Ok, so it will be "doctor check-up" painful, not "dentist" painful. Gotcha.
Far from "dentist" painful. The first half is quite delightful, but once Frears feels he needs some seriousness in the proceedings, the picture collapses on itself. Dench is a riot; I don't know if she deserved an Oscar nomination for it, but I've never seen her quite like this.
I actually want to see this (!), just because of Judi Dench. There must be something wrong with me.
B- for "Virgin Spring". Yes! A few powerful scenes but so far from Bergman's best it's scary.
Javier - Nothing wrong for wanting to see it. Just don't expect much expect for Dench, who really makes the film.
The Virgin Spring was a huge disappointment, and I'm liking it less and less the more I think about it. This just affirms the fact that I prefer the late chamber dramas of the 70s much more than his early work.
Yeah, Dench is really great and makes the film worthwhile.
As for the trailer thing, that is indeed very weird. I've never seen that before either. Error, perhaps? :P Unless the theater you went to was falling down or something and they wanted to make sure everyone stayed :)
Comments on "Mysterious Skin" and "What Time is It There"!
(Not that I have much room to talk-- I saw "Mysterious Skin" weeks ago and have yet to write about it.
